This Week

Hello! Today we began our MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing. There are three different ones all computer based. They are in Math, Reading and Language. Please be sure your child gets plenty of rest and has a healthy breakfast in the morning while we continue this testing.

Also, now that we are done with our review math unit, math homework will be coming home on a regular basis starting tonight. This homework should not take very long as it is a review for the students. Please return the homework the following day. No homework is given on Fridays.

We will begin Word Work (spelling) the first week of October. So, the students will have homework for this as well.

I look forward to seeing you again at Back to School Night!

Newsletter

Hi there! I sent home the September newsletter today on yellow paper. I informed you of what we have been working on in the classroom. As of now, the only homework is to read nightly and practice basic math facts. Students should be saying the answer within three seconds. Later, students will have math as well as Word Work (spelling) homework.

We have a tadpole in our classroom! I think it will be perfect for showing the four stages we are learning. Thanks for sharing him with us, Ruben!

Enjoy your week!

Week

Hello! We are off to a busy start already with reading, writing and math. The students are learning so much and are doing a great job of working hard. We will be sharing our Memory Boxes starting today and finishing throughout the week. Great job on giving your students healthy snacks!

First Day

Wow, what a busy day! I can't believe how fast it went. The students were so excited to chat about what they did over the summer. I loved all of the friendly conversations I heard.

Oh, we will have time for snack towards the end of the day. Please be sure it is a healthy one. :-)

Currently, for homework students should be reading a book at their level for about 15 minutes nightly. Also, I know most of the students could practice their basic addition and subtraction math facts. They should get the answer within three seconds.

Please contact me as needed. Thanks so much!
